What’s Up this Summer in Whistler

If you haven’t experienced Summer in Whistler, what are you waiting for?! The summer months are an incredible time to visit the resort. Abundant nature and wide-open alpine spaces are unmatched. There are activities and sights for everyone to enjoy - whether you want a relaxing retreat or an adrenaline-fuelled adventure, Whistler has something for everyone. Plus, this summer has some exciting new activities and attractions – such as the upgrades to the Creekside Zone of the Bike Park! We have complied a list of what’s up this summer in Whistler.

Summer is an incredible time to visit the resort.

Whistler Mountain Bike Park

Explore North America’s largest ski resort on two wheels this summer in Whistler. Whistler Mountain Bike Park offers the most terrain of any bike park in North America and is typically open May to September. Trails are all lift-accessed and designed for all abilities (rated green, blue, and black). We recommend an orientation for new and first-time bike park riders. Specialty bikes and helmets are required. This year, we are especially excited for the Creekside Zone (right across the street from Nita Lake Lodge) to re-open after major upgrades and expansions. This summer is looking to be the best yet for ‘Creekers’!

Enjoy the newest bike park expansion – right here in Creekside!

Relax on the Water

The best way to cool off during a hot summer’s day in Whistler is at the lake. Whistler has five lakes in the immediate vicinity (with many more a short drive/ride away!) Lakes Alta, Alpha, Lost, and Green, attract many visitors with Nita Lake offering a tranquil respite from its busier counterparts.

There is no better place to stay than Whistler’s only Lakeside Resort & Spa - guests of Nita Lake Lodge enjoy complimentary access to lake toys including a wide variety of paddleboards, kayaks and canoes.

Guests of Nita Lake Lodge receive complimentary use of our lake boats – an exclusive experience!

The Den at Nita Lake Lodge – Whistler’s Newest Lakeside Dining Experience

Summer season means patio time and Whistler has plenty of stunners to choose from. Be sure to check out our newest on-site dining experience, The Den. With an exquisite menu including char-broiled plants & proteins, we can’t wait to welcome you for a lakeside dining experience that is unmatched in Whistler. Take in the gorgeous lakefront views while enjoying a locally sourced meal.

Alpine Hiking & Sightseeing

Whether winter or summer in Whistler, we love to escape the Village and explore the alpine. A network of stunning hiking trails are accessible via gondola in summer months. Choose from child-friendly jaunts (such as the 1.2km Spearhead Loop) to more advanced adventures (such as the 9.4km High Note Trail). If you want to get your pulse racing, consider Little Burn/Big Burn/Heart Burn, which will take you from valley bottom to mountain top with 1,200m elevation gain in 6.2km! Treat yourself to a beer at the top and ride the gondola down (tickets may be purchased from Guest Services in the Village).
