How much should I plan for, per person, for food & beverage?

There is a minimum food-and-beverage spend requirement of $100 net per adult guest for wedding receptions.

Is a service charge/gratuity included?

An 18% service charge is applied to all planned food and beverage calculated on pre-tax totals.

What if there's a change to my seating plan/guest meals?

Any last minute or new orders within the 72-hour deadline are subject to a surcharge based on fifteen percent (15%) of the original menu price. Any substantial changes for the Event that differ from the agreed Banquet Event Order (BEO) such as floor plan set-up, event start or finish time which impact employee scheduling may be subject to additional labour charges. 

​Is there a minimum bar spend?

For wedding functions involving bar service, the minimum dollar consumption per bartender is four-hundred and fifty dollars ($450.00). In the event this limitation is not met by the Wedding Couple, the bartender(s) shall be paid for by the Wedding Couple at the rate of thirty-five dollars ($35.00) per hour, for a minimum of four (4) hours. Bar spends are subject to GST and PST at the standard rate.

​Can we arrange our own catering/bar services?

The Wedding Couple acknowledges that the Hotel has the exclusive right to provide F&B Services and merchandise sales within the Hotel, and neither the Wedding Couple nor any person acting under the authority of the Wedding Couple may dispense by way of gift, sale, or otherwise, any food, refreshments, beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), tobacco, or any other goods without the prior written consent of Nita Lake Lodge, which consent may be withheld in its sole discretion.

​Is there a minimum length of stay for guests staying at Nita?

There is a minimum 2-night stay required. Please note pending on your reception venue choice, you will be required to commit to a minimum amount of rooms per night over the selected dates. 

​ When is check in/check out time?

Check-in time is 4:00 p.m. daily. Check-out time is 11:00 a.m. daily. Requests to retain rooms beyond these hours should be directed to the Front Desk once the guest is registered.

​​Are there restrictions in terms of décor?

The Hotel does not permit anything to be nailed, posted or otherwise attached to the Hotel walls. Only pre-authorized signage, promotional material, etc. will be allowed in any lobby areas. Communication of the above requirements to Wedding Planner and guests is the responsibility of the Wedding Couple. Decoration may not be hung from any of the Hotel's chandeliers. Confetti and synthetic floral petals are not permitted on the Hotel premises. Any damage to event space which results in additional cleaning expenses will be charged back to the Wedding Couple. Please note that exposed flames, such as unprotected candles, are also not permitted at Nita Lake Lodge as these pose a safety concern. 

​Can we arrange third-party entertainment/live music?

Live music, as well as patron entertainment and dancing,  are only permitted within dedicated banquet function space. Any speakers used by live bands in the dedicated areas must face the inside of the room, none can face exterior doors. Electronic amplifiers are not recommended to be used. The Hotel reserves the right to ask live entertainment acts to turn down the volume as it sees fit to restrict noise levels. The Hotel further reserves the right to ask that music be turned down at any time during an event should it be disruptive to Hotel guests not attending the event. 

​Is music allowed on the patio?

With the exception of music played during a wedding ceremony and microphones used during the exchange of wedding vows, live music acts and patron entertainment are not permitted in any of our lakeside venues or patios. 

Up until what time is music permitted?

The Hotel reserves the right to ask that music be turned down at any time during the event should it be disrupting to Hotel guests not attending the event. It is required that all music ceases by 12:00 a.m. No amplification of music is permitted on the building’s exterior. 

Contracts and Deposits

The countersigned contract will confirm the function space bookings and guest room agreement.  An initial deposit of 100% of the total function space plus applicable tax will be due.  A second deposit of $100 per adult guest, based on the contracted guarantee number, is due 60 days prior to the wedding date.  A third and final deposit of the estimated balance of the planned food-and-beverage plus applicable service charges and taxes is due 72 hours prior to the wedding date.  This estimate aligns with the final BEO banquet event order as agreed to by the couple and the hotel’s events manager.
